Newcastle upon Tyne is a metropolitan area in Tyne and Wear, England that was once part of the dated English county of Northumberland. Newcastle upon Tyne determines its name from its station of being on the banks of the River Tyne, as well as the castle produced by Robert II of Normandy, who was the oldest son of William the Conqueror. Ere becoming Newcastle, the metropolitan area was a Roman hamlet starting from the 2nd century, under the name Pons Aelius.Newcastle is also noted for its traditionally notorius football club Newcastle United, which currently houses stars such as England Striker Michael Owen.
Whenever one speculates of Newcastle, one thinks of the Tyne Bridge which links Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead. It was originally designed by Mott, Hay, and Anderson who also formed the Forth Road Bridge. The bridge was then created by Dorman Long and Co. The Tyne Bridge was also recommended in the flick Goal, which is about Santiago Munez, an aspiring footie player who tried out for the Newcastle United football Club.Another berth of attraction is decidedly St. James Park, the home stadium of Newcastle United. The gigantic stadium may fit up to 52,387 fans, making it the 3rd biggest stadium in the Premier league.
Gain from the many entertainment in Newcastle. Shopping is a massive allurement here; take a walk through the multitudinous works of art shown for sale at University Gallery, and see multitudinous engrossing photos from local and regional artists at the Side gallery. Or come by the legions parks located through the whole of Newcastle, such as Gibside, Exhibition Park, and Leazes Park. All the parks are appealingly maintained and easy to get to, and notorious, for excursionists and locals alike. Newcastle offers a wide cross section of museums for youngsters and adults, which in turn suggests diversion and learning value all at once.
There also exist several exquisite restaurants and food stalls in Newcastle upon Tyne. One specific dwelling of activity is the Black Bull Public House, which is one of the greater foremost pubs in all Newcastle upon Tyne. It is leadng on soccer match days and apparently offers some of the prime beer in the whole center. Testimonies from match-goers state that Black Bull provides a good match experience that doesn't require one to St. James Park.A good restaurant in Newcastle is Comfort Food Co Ltd. The food is well cooked and well presented according to testimonies. The restaurant also offers wine. The restaurant is customarily half loaded by 9 pm, so tourists should try to get there early to avoid the rush.
When you are in the mood for some diversion, Newcastle does not sadden. Pick from myriads bars, such as Blackie Boy, Casa, Bonded Warehouse. Marsha's bar, and The Vault. If you would rather attend regularly a where you can dance the night away, there are stacks to choose from. Tuxedo Princess brags a revolving dance floor that brings in hundreds of partygoers. Ikon features dance and disco music, and Liquid does everything from a 70's night to an 80's night to a diversity of music.
Newcastle is surely a nice berth to frequent, as it is a footie Mecca as well as a nice neighborhood to observe traditional English culture. There are locales that offer beer, football, wine, and tea - all the things that make up a solid, traditional English place. The Tyne Bridge is also an attractive locality even for non-soccer fans.
