Couple Sitting On Beach
Paul Taylor
Several times, I have come close to purchasing these ebooks, but have not. I keep thinking that the only way that they have all of this stuff is to sell information to people like me that dream of one day making lots of money by working at home selling on the internet.
I have owned several retail establishments ? some successful and some not so successful, but I have had to work at them whether or not they made money. I have not found anything yet that I can only spend a few hours a day and get rich, although I am trying.
One thing I have realized, though, is that the internet is the way to go. Just think of it this way, you do not have to hire employees; no one coming in late or calling in sick; the plumbing does not stop-up; the air conditioner and heat don't break down; and, it works for you 24 hours a day, 7 days each week and it does not require bathroom breaks.
I know what you are thinking. We know all of this stuff, why is he retelling us the same information that we have known for years. But have you ever thought power the internet truly has. For instance, consider how long would it take for you to mail something to 1,000,000 people. With email programs, you can do that in seconds.
I recently saw a news story about viral marketing on Good Morning America. That concept shows that if you sent an article to ten people and each of those ten people forwarded that article to ten people, after only six layers, one million people would have seen that article. The possibilities are endless. Now consider that if only one tenth of one percent purchased from you, you would have one thousand sales. Or consider that if you only made $5 per hour profit (that is not even minimum wage) by selling an item on the internet since it is open all the time, you would make over $40,000 that year.
Now you see the power of the internet. Forward this article to all of your friends and let's see how long it takes to reach one million readers. I am interested to see if this will really work or if it stops after a few people.
I heard a story about a man that goes to a pet store to buy a bird for his children. There are lots of birds there with price tags tied to their feet. He looks at the prices and most are $5.00. But this one bird on the end is a whopping $50.00.
He asks the clerk what is special about this bird to which he replies that this bird can talk. So the customer buys the bird. However, the man returns the next day and says that the bird won't talk.
Did he look in the mirror? I didn't buy a mirror the man said. So he bought a mirror. The next day he returns, still the bird won't talk. Did he climb the ladder? I didn't buy a ladder. So, he bought a ladder.
The next day he returns and angrily tells the clerk that the bird still won't talk. Did he swing on his swing? The man says this is the last thing he is buying for that bird.
I bought the mirror so he would think he was not alone, I bought the ladder so he could run up and down, and I am buying this swing so he will feel like he is in nature.
The next morning when the man went to check on the bird, he was lying on his back, feet sticking in the air and before he died, the bird asked the man ?didn't they sell birdfeed??
The moral of this story is to take care of the important things. We all get caught up in everyday life and forget what we are doing. Remember to feed the bird and pass it on.
