Credit Card For Cash Back
Neil Lemon
One of the most common questions I get asked is why isn't my purchase showing up on the cashback site I used to make my purchase. This is probably due to the fact that your browser has failed to tell the cashback site you made the purchase. This article sets to address this problem by showing you how to prepare your browser so that it will record all of your cashback transactions.
There are a few common things you will have to do no matter which internet browser you use, be that Microsoft's Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Opera. The most important factor will be to enable cookies. To do this in Internet Explorer 7 do the following:
Click Start and select Control Panel. Double-click the Internet Options icon. Select the Privacy tab. Under Settings, click Advanced button. Check the box Override automatic cookie handling under Cookies section in Advanced Privacy Settings window. Under First-party Cookies, select Accept. Under Third-party Cookies, select Accept. Check the box Always allow session cookies. Click OK. Click OK to exit.
If you use Firefox you will need to do the following:
Click on the Tools-menu in Mozilla, click on the Options item in the menu and a new window opens. Click on the Privacy selection in the top part of the window, in the Cookies section check the Enable cookies box. Save changes by clicking Ok.
You will also need to turn add blocking off in your browser and allow pop ups. There are so many add ons and different ways this can be done now that I will have to leave that part to you to work out how you can do this on your particular system configuration.
Ok, so you have followed my advice so far but what you now need to do is ensure that you clear your cookies between visits to different cashback sites or if you visited a retailer to check prices and now want to buy but go through a cashback site. This is where Mozilla Firefox comes into its own as it has this feature built in and all you need to do is enable it. To do this follow the following:
Click on the Tools-menu in Mozilla, click on the Options item in the menu and a new window opens. Click on the Privacy selection in the top part of the window, in the Cookies section there is a dropdown box next to 'Keep until' with three options and you need to select the option 'I close Firefox'. Save changes by clicking Ok. Now every time you close your browser your cookies will be removed automatically.
If you use Internet Explorer and you really don't want to change to Firefox which I can heartily recommend, then you need to download some freeware software called Ccleaner. This small piece of software will clear out all your cookies when run which normally takes less than a second. Not so automatic as the Firefox option but does the same job. This software will also work with Opera if you use that browser.
So why would you want to clear your cookies between cashback sites? Take the example of a daily click on a cashback site. A daily click is simply an offer you can click through to which will not cost you anything to take up but will reward you with some cash back. Some of these daily clicks can be done multiple times, sometimes as much as five. If you do not clear your cookies between each and every visit however, it will assume you have only ever visited once. By clearing your cookies between visits it will log you every time and therefore give you five times as much back just by ensuring your browser is set up correctly to maximise your cashback returns.
If you follow these simple browser changes then your cash back should be logged every time. If you are an avid daily clicker you should see the amount you receive go up considerably as more of your transactions will be logged. Now, go make your fortune and save some money.
