Credit Cards High Interest
Barron Murdoch
Using two different credit cards and transferring balance between them is the easiest way to avoid credit card fees and interest rates that are levied on the balance of the card. Many savvy credit card users think out of the box to avoid credit card fees by transferring funds from one card to another.
Credit card companies make their most of the income from the charges and fees that are applied on using credit cards. If these fees were not placed then credit card companies would never make the amount of profit they generate from consumers using their credit cards.
Credit card companies charge various types of fees on a credit card. The most common fees that is applied on a credit card is the late fee when the consumer does not repays the amount spent from the card within in the due date. Second, major charge is the over due - limit fee when a card holder spends more than his card limit. The easiest way to avoid these fees is by limiting your credit card use and repaying all your dues within time.
Interest rate is the fee imposed on credit card by the companies in return of convenience of carrying balance on the card beyond the grace period. Grace period can vary from one card to another but it is included with the monthly statement of the card. When you do not repay your card balance within the due date then the balance on the credit card will be subject to interest rate.
With additional interest rate and credit card fees a cardholder normally goes on to pay more than the normal amount of the purchased item. Hence, it is the major responsibility of the card holder to control his spending habit and limit any fees on to his card.
Transferring balance between two cards which have different grace periods with different closing dates can be easier way to avoid card fees. If the closing day of both the card is on same day then you will be subject to interest rate or late fee or perhaps both. In case your cards closing date are on same day then you can call your card company and ask them to change the due date.
Transferring balance between two cards can easily reduce your card fees but you should be precise on doing this as any delay in transferring can cost you more than the normal cards fees. To sum up it in easy way, let's say you have Card A which ends on 1st of the month and Card B which ends on 15th of the month. Now, to avoid card fees on Card A, you must transfer all the balance of Card A to Card B before the first of the month. Then again you must transfer the balance from Card B to Card A before 15th of the month. You should be precise in doing this as the delay in transferring will hurt you more than the normal credit card fees.
Credit cards companies apply various kinds of charges on its users, but with slight knowledge and control of your spending habit you can easily reduce these charges. Though you still may be subject to certain charges which are applied because you hold a credit card but still the significant amount of fees that an average users without any knowledge of reducing it pays to credit card companies can easily be reduced using these methods.
