Dance Do The Dance
Gregory Wadel
In the Dance Dance Revolution, as the player you must move your feet to a set pattern, stepping in time with the rhythm or beat of the song you have chosen. During the normal gameplay, arrows will scroll upwards from the bottom of the screen and pass over stationary, arrows near the top also known as guide arrows. When the scrolling arrows overlap the stationary ones, you must step on the corresponding arrows on the dance platform or pad. Successfully hitting the arrows in time with the music fills the Dance Revolution Gauge, if failure to do so drains the dance Gauge. If the Dance Gauge is fully depleted during gameplay, the player will fail the song, resulting in the game being over. Then, the player is taken to where the Results are shown, and the player is rated for his or her performance with a letter grade and a number score, also giving you other types of stats. The player may be given a chance to play the game again, depending on the settings of the particular dance dance revolution usually allowing you to participate in 3-5 songs per game.
All Depending on the version of the game you have, the dance steps are broken into different levels of difficulty. The main difficulty levels are Basic to Light, Tricky to Standard and Maniac to Heavy, and some versions also include a Beginner and difficult levels, usually with extremely easy and very difficult choices. The Songs are also given a foot rating, ranging from one to ten feet to indicate the overall difficulty of the step sequence. Beginning in dance dance revolution max, a dance gauge known as the Groove Radar will show how difficult a particular foot sequence is in various parts of the game, such as the maximum density of steps, and how many jumps are in the steps, and so on.
I've come to see this as a very good tool for three things, Fun, Excersise and Weight Loss, while participating in the game whether it's slow or fast your going to definitly have some fun, and in the same token while your having that fun you'll be doing a little excersise which produces weight loss, there are thgousands of kids out there that love this game, i've even seen some of the health clubs introducing the Dance Dance Revolution program into there workouts.
