Having the right product matched with quality marketing is just the tip of the iceberg for your home based business. That will certainly begin to generate incoming customers for your business, but it is customer service that will decide how your business develops and whether or not it is succeeds. By providing quality customer service and showing the customer that they matter, you will have much greater success with your home based business.
There is a lot that you can do for your home based business, but you can't force the customer to buy the product. It is the customer that decides whether your product and your service is worthy of them buying it. By being there for the customer and making them feel appreciated, they will be more likely to trust you and the service you are providing.
Before anything else, you have to build a trusting relationship with your prospects. The minute the customer knows you are there for them and will go out of your way to assist them, they will feel appreciated. You can do this by giving them your email, providing them with free trials or information products, and telling them that you are there for them.
To make the most of your opportunity, you have to build this relationship by viewing the customer as a person. It is natural to view it as a business proposition, but if you can show that they are a person just like you, they will feel like an equal to you. If you want to make your product or service stand out from the rest, make an effort to drop your potential customer a personalized email to let them know you care.
Reeling in the customers by building this relationship is just the beginning. After that, the best way to make a sale much more likely is being there for them while they consider there options. After every sale or email with questions they have, you MUST follow-up with them. By doing so, you can thank them and set them up for another product.
Lastly, if you can offer incentives or free add-ons, your customer will notice the quality of your home business. Maybe send them a free e-book or a pamphlet with information regarding your business and products they are interested in. You can also expand on your home based business opportunity by offering them a free product if they can refer three customers to your site. This way you are giving away one product while gaining three other customers.
Customer service is the key aspect to a successful home based business. It doesn't take a degree in rocket science to realize that the more you go out of your way for your prospect or customer the more likely they are to remember you whether you make a sale or not.
If you do make a sale, great customer service is a sure way to keep them coming back.
