After you have selected a product to promote, you will not
just magically get a bunch of people coming to your doorstep to buy
that product. Many people set up their website and believe
"If I build it, they will come", but this is untrue.
You have to actually put in the effort and promote the
product, otherwise no one will ever notice it.
There are numerous ways to promote affiliate products. You
can use the method that all the gurus tell you to do, and
that is using PPC advertising. You can also use banner
marketing or pay per impression advertising if you have
money to invest in advertising. But what if you don't
have a lot of money to place into advertising? Or what if
you don't know muchabout setting up a proper paid
advertising campaign and thus you are incredibly hesitant to spend
your money on something that may or may not work?
Well, there are many free ways to promote your
website. You can utilize article marketing, forum marketing,
social networking, blogging, podcasting, video marketing,
craigslist and free classified ads. These are all great
ways of getting free traffic to your site. But one thing
you must never do. Never try to do all of these techniques
at once. Select one, get efficient at it and start generating
traffic with it, then move on to the next one. If you can't do
it, then outsource it. Pay other people to apply these
advertising techniques for you. There are a lot of sites
online where you can attain virtual assistants for great
prices that will do some of the work for you, so you can
work on the things you are good at while they do the things
you can't or don't want to do.
Once you are starting to generate traffic to your website,
you need to utilize that traffic. One thing you
absolutely must have is an autoresonder service. You need
to have an opt-in form on your page so you can collect the
emails of your customers. Why do you need to do this? Simple,
because a lot of people need to hear a message 7 times before
they will act. Obviously, they are not just going to keep
coming back to your webpage on their own, so you need to have the ability
to contact them and remind them of your message and what you
are offering them. Believe me, you will get many more sales
if you have their emails and you contact them every day for
a week to basically restate your message again. You can also
email them later with other products you decide to promote.
This will make you loads more money than if you just let the
visitors see your site and leave without doing anything.
So two big things you need to remember when you are promotingaffiliate products: Once you have your website up, you need
to get traffic to your website. Focus on one individual method, then
once you are good at it you can move onto other methods of traffic
generation. Once you have traffic you need to capture their
contact info so that you can contact them in the future
and repeat your message and promote other products to them in the
furure. Also, be sure to offer free content to your subscribers
so that you don't burn them out. And don't overpromote to them
either.
