Westward Ho!
Named after the famous Charles Kingsley novel ?Westward Ho!? and the only place in the British Isles with an exclamation mark. Westward Ho! is famous for it's miles of long sandy beach and backed by a pebble ridge, this huge expanse of beach is used for a host of activities including kite surfing, sand boarding, surfing, cricket, volleyball & much more.
Croyde
Croyde is not only the renowned surf capital of the West Country but is also a beautiful quaint village of unique charm and character with its thatched cottages, rolling hills and the pretty stream that winds its way through to the idyllic sandy beach. The area surrounding Croyde is the perfect place for the outdoor adventurer with Baggy Point close by offering spectacular walks around the cliffs as well as specialised rock climbing.
Torquay
Situated in the heart of the English Riviera on the south coast of Devon, lies the holiday destination of Torquay. Dating back to the Victorian period, Torquay has always been one of the UK's top holiday resorts with an array of attractions and events for all ages all year round. With over 22 miles of beautiful golden coastline, there are no fewer than 19 beaches and coves.
Burnham-On-Sea
Burnham on Sea is a coastal resort with a very distinctive nine-legged lighthouse and seven miles of sandy beach. The lovely promenade that overlooks Bridgewater Bay has stunning views as far as Wales, across the Bristol Channel. Burnham itself is a thriving market town with a mix of high street stores and some interesting little traditional shops.
Newquay
Newquay situated on the North Cornwall Coast is the largest resort in Cornwall and self styled surfing capital of Britain. Once an isolated fishing community it still has an unspoilt harbour. The breathtaking Rivera's rugged soaring cliffs alternate with sheltered coves and thundering surf with secluded rock pools, smugglers? caves and soft, golden sands stretching for seven miles.
Bude
Bude is situated on the Atlantic Heritage Coast and has been attracting visitors since the Victorian times. Approximately 8 miles from the North Cornwall/Devon border it is an ideal location with which to explore the surrounding unspoilt coastline and superb sandy beaches. It was notorious for the wreckers in the 19th Century when many shipwrecks came to ground off the rugged coast.
St Ives
For generations a haven for internationally renowned artists, poets and authors seeking inspiration, romantic St Ives offers a truly cultural experience with over 40 galleries hidden within the warren of cobbled streets. The sweeping St Ives Bay which is a proud member of ?The Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club?, hails two of the countries finest beaches, Porthmeor and Porthminster with Porthmeor being a popular surfing beach and Porthminster for sun worshippers.
Perranporth
Also known as Poldark Country the old mining village of Perranporth is now a popular family holiday resort that is situated along the three miles of golden sands. The beach is framed by rugged cliffs but the expanse of sand is ideal for families and also sand ?yachting. It is often frequented by surfers as being a resort on the Atlantic coast makes it one of the most popular surfing locations.
Weymouth
Founded as a ?resort? by King George III in the 18th Century Weymouth is situated approximately halfway along the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, a 95-mile stretch of coastline famed for its varied geology and unique landforms. It offers a beautiful sandy beach with golden sands and a historic fishing harbour with an intriguing ?lifting? road bridge and a shopping centre only yards from the beach.
Portreath
Portreath is a small village that clings to the sides of a river valley which leads down to the 18th Century harbour that once served the copper and tin mines of Camborne. Much of the harbour at Portreath remains today with its jetties, Pilot's Lookout and cast iron capstans, the fishing boats still use the harbour to land their daily catch.
