The idea of the came from our company's founders some eight years ago after beingvictims of a hate crime in Katy, TX, a suburb of Houston. Instead ofbeing bitter, this life-changing incident ignited a fire in Dwayne andMaria Ross to do something about the inherent cause of the decisionmade by their perpetrators.
They went on a crusade to make an impact to eradicate bigotry andhatred. They sought the teachings of Dr. King to do so. One might ask,?why a flag??The flag represents a visual symbol that exemplifiespride, shows respect, and stimulates dialogue, all critical inaddressing the continued racial tension in our country brought on byignorance and intolerance. This flag and its symbolism is our offeringto the extension of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., hisbeliefs and teachings. The flag's slogan, ?Yesterday's Dream,Tomorrow's Reality? offers a glimpse into how far Dr. King's dream hascome. It reminds all of us, to teach in our schools, homes, andchurches the importance of what Dr. King stood for.
