Scorpios are emotional and sensitive but capable of keeping these aspects of their personality under tight control. When emotions do break through their facade, they come out in a violent burst often marred by vindictiveness. They are passionate and intense creatures- never doing anything halfway and putting everything they have into any project. Becoming a workaholic is a danger most Scorpios face.

Scorpios can be controlled by their jealousy and hold on to a grudge. They are apt to act out in revenge. The Scorpion will dominate any situation they are in. It isn't all bad, though. This passion can come in handy sometimes. There are very few "middle ground" types in this sign- you either love them or hate them.

Along with all of this intensity, there is a great deal of secrecy-especially that surrounding their personality. They don't share what they are feeling and can hide their true personality so well you never see it. They are critical, demanding and forceful. Scorpios can make a tough decision quick and correctly. When they square off against an opponent, they are excellent at seeing through to the heart of the other person's motives. They do make emotional connections with people, but it is rare and there is usually a lack of trust.

A Scorpio's home is their castle and things are to be done their way. They take the relationships they are in seriously, since all of that passion is put behind them, and are very attracted to other people. But in the end the Scorpio works better alone. Any attempts to dominate them will be thwarted and usually repaid in kind.

In a romantic relationship, a Scorpio dives in with such passion that it can create possessiveness over their partner. They want a transformative experience out of the relationship, which is obviously hard to live up to. Their need for control, and great deals of pride, can strain a relationship. They often put their partner up to "tests" of trust and love. Their partner needs to fight back or risk losing the Scorpio's attention- but must let the Scorpion win the battle. As bad as all of that can sound, they do have a deep understanding of their partner. If a relationship matters to them, it matters every hour of the day. Their intensity can be rivaled by none. Their partner will often be transformed by a relationship with the Scorpio.

There are a lot of sharp qualities about this sign (thus being represented by the clawed Scorpion) but some of their aspects are unfairly judged. Passion, decisiveness and deep involvement are things that sound good on paper. Sure, the Scorpio is prone to take these things to excess and pull themselves- and anyone around them- into a dark place. But when they step into the light, it is one of the most brilliant lights you could ever see.
