You can also use coaster to prevent the moisture of the glass from getting into the furniture. Since moisture can cause damage from the oak, better to avoid the spillage of liquid in the wood. When you accidentally spill liquid like alcohol, nail polish or perfume in the oak, don't rub as it cause damaged and spoil the effect to the furniture. However, here are some guides in cleaning the office furniture that provide suggestions and guidelines in cleaning it in a proper manner.
Cleaning instructions
?Wipe the surface with a moist but not wet sponge or cloth for everyday cleaning. When you are wiping, it is important to follow the direction of the wood grain.
?Use Windex or similar product to clean the surface of the thin furniture. This kind of cleaner will not harm the finishes of the furniture. Apply the cleaner to the surface, wipe dry with down free cloth.
?Use mild cleaner such as oil soap to remove the fingerprints and dirt of the furniture, wipe dry with clean free cotton cloth.
?Use high quality liquid polish such as furniture polish when polishing the surface of the furniture. Apply the polish with a soft cloth and always follow the direction of the wood grain.
?Avoid wax base cleaner and furniture polish in cleaning office furniture, these products can contain wax and silicon that can build up with the surface of the furniture, the build up will create a cloudy appearance on the finish of the unit.
?Avoid ammonia base products or cleaning products that contains oil.
There are also some tips in cleaning stains such as coffee or tea, use detergent or a mild soap and a soft brittle brush in removing those stains. If the stain persists, use a mixture of baking soda and water with the soft brush. Scrubbed for about 10 to 20 strokes, although baking soda has low abrasive however exerting two much force can damage the furniture. Fixed stains that resist any of the above cleaning methods may require unmixed products such as nail polish remover and bleach. Apply the nail polish remover or the bleach to the stain and wait for at least two minutes, rinse carefully using dry cloth.
Always rinse the cover of the furniture after cleaning. If a small amount of stains remain in the surface, there is a possibility that the scars will remain permanently.
