2. Don't get sucked into believing that it will be easy profits. The reality of a home based business is that it is like any other business. It is going to require hard work, discipline and dedication on your part to make it succeed. They have only one purpose in mind and that is how to separate you from your hard earned money. They may involve you paying an upfront fee that offers you little more than learning materials and no business opportunity.

5. Ensure that there is a market for your business product or service. There is no point venturing into a business opportunity only to find that there is no market for it. While certainly you have lower startup costs and expenses since it's a home based business you want to ensure that your time is used effectively. Do your research and make sure that people are looking for what you are offering.
