Nutrition Pregnancy First Trimester
Jackb Son
Knowing what foods to avoid during pregnancy is a very important part of your pregnancy diet. Everything you eat and don't eat contributes to your nutrition during pregnancy. Your baby must get all its nutrients from you. Just taking vitamins isn't enough. You need to be full of good nutrition. If you fill up on Doritos, you won't have room left for foods that can really help your baby grow beautiful, strong and healthy.
The first three months of your pregnancy are the most important because this is when most of your baby's organs and brain are being developed. Proper nutrition during pregnancy can minimize the risk of birth defects, malformations and miscarriage. The first three months are when most miscarriages occur.
You should also eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Green vegetables such as broccoli and green beans are excellent in providing nutrition during pregnancy. Other vegetables like sweet potatoes and carrots are great for your body. Finally, be sure you add in plenty of water during the day.
You should consume 6-11 servings per day of breads, cereals, rice and pasta. One serving is one slice of bread, or ? half cup of cooked cereal, or 1 ounce of ready-to-eat cereal.
Doctors all over the world agree that, almost all the nutrients can be obtained through a balanced diet. Except for iron, which poses a double requirement during pregnancy, you need not depend on nutritional supplements for healthy nutrition during pregnancy. Only in cases of deficiencies, do doctors recommend supplements, out of which, the common ones are those containing folic acid and calcium.
While breast feeding you need to include in your daily ration at least 500 mL of milk, kefir or curdled milk, 50-100 g of cotton cheese, about 200 g of meat, 600 g of vegetables (it is better to insert different vegetables separately), 1 egg, 300-500 g of fruits (quantity should be increased little by little), 35 g of butter and 20 g of vegetable oil.
If you are overweight and are going to have a baby, then future pregnancy ? is the best cause to start changing your habits, leading to adiposity: move more and eat right way. Many women succeed in this, as interests of baby health prevail over weak will. Moreover, if overweight women switch to a strict dietary nutrition during pregnancy (but not to starvation), then after delivery they will be able to lose much weight. Risk of complications will be reduced to minimum, if you grow thin in time.
But a baby's weight may be of concern under two conditions. First, a baby weighing less than 5.5 pounds at birth maybe considered a low birth-weight baby. It may have a higher risk of developmental problems than a normal baby. It may be caused by poor maternal nutrition during pregnancy. Second condition is when baby grows at a slower rate than normal. It may be a physical problem or due to emotional neglect.
Through all stages of your life, eating the proper foods makes a difference to your overall health. But, during pregnancy it is absolutely critical to the normal growth of your baby. Taking the right nutrition during pregnancy is extremely important and any carelessness towards this end could severely impact on both your and your baby's health.
