Natural Remedies For Diabetes
Rudy Silva
Planning a good diet help you prevent illness. Diets that are rich in sugar and white flour products can eventually lead to diabetes and other diseases. Most people who don't have diabetes think that they are ok. But if you look at their diets, you will find that it can be improved to reduce the risk of developing diabetes. If you are over weight and eat highly processed food then your risk increases. If you have elevated triglyceride, low HDL, and high blood pressure, then you also have higher risks for diabetes.
To reduce the risk of diabetes, slowly start changing your diet by reducing the foods that are highly processed, start eating more natural and raw foods, and use the following three natural remedies.
Diabetes and Magnesium Study
In a study done at Brigham, 11,000 women were tested for the risk factors discussed above, which showed that those women that had a high intake of magnesium had a decrease in diabetic risk factors by 27%. Other long-term studies have also shown the same magnesium results
So why does magnesium lower diabetic risk factors? Researchers have suggested that magnesium reduces blood pressure, relaxes heart muscles, and controls homocysteine, which is associated with cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Magnesium also activates your enzyme system and is active in converting nutrients into energy for your body functions.
Magnesium and Vitamin D also help you absorb more calcium. Getting more magnesium and calcium into your body helps reduce muscle spasms that might occur during the night throughout your body.
To get more magnesium in your diet eat dark green leafy lettuce, avocados, nuts, and wholes grains. As a supplement, use magnesium gluconate which is chelated. Chelated means magnesium is connected to an amino acid so that magnesium can be easily absorbed through your intestines. Use 500 mg per day.
Diabetes and Cinnamon Study
In a study done with cinnamon for 40 days, all those using cinnamon showed a decrease of 18 - 29 % in their serum glucose. In addition, other diabetic risk factors were also decreased - triglycerides 23-30 %, LDL cholesterol 7-27 %, and total cholesterol 12-26 %. The placebo group showed no change these areas.
There is an extract from cinnamon called Cinnulin PF. This extract works on the cellular level by making the insulin cell receptors more sensitive to insulin by 300%. So why is this important? Well, in diabetes, if the pancreas does not produce enough insulin then not enough insulin cell doors open so plenty of sugar can go into the cells to lower your blood sugar levels.
In some diabetic cases, the cells become resistant to insulin not allowing insulin to open cell doors for sugar to enter. This is where Cinnulin PF comes in and makes cells more receptive to insulin so that doors can open for sugar to enter and thereby lowering the amount of sugar in the blood.
The amount of cinnamon extract to use is 500 mg twice a day.
Glucotor 2 a Diabetes Formulation
Here is a natural product called Glucotor 2, which contains prickly pear cactus, gymnema sylvestre, fenugreek, cinnulin PF banaba and bitter melon. With the addition of cinnulin PF to Glucotor 2, it is now more powerful than the previous formulation Glucotor 1. This product has a good history of lowering blood sugar levels and has many real life testimonials.
Adding both magnesium and cinnulin PF to your diet will lower your blood sugar levels. Add to this a better diet, which contains less processed foods, you can substantially lower your risk for developing diabetes. Not only this, but, It will also provide you with benefits for improving your cardiovascular system. You can supplement with magnesium and with cinnulin PF, which is available as a single extract.
