Natural Ways To Get Rid Of Acne

I'm sure we all know the value of our face and body. Once we get to our teenage years, we become increasingly concerned with the thought of getting our first pimple breakout. And for everyone who never had a problem with zits, then I must congratulate you. For the rest of you who are suffering with acne, don't feel down, because there is a bright light at the end of this tunnel. We will take a more naturalist approach to getting rid of your pimples.
Do you suffer from an acne problem? Do you buy a large amount of cash on useless acne products and medication? Don't stress, because these time-tested and natural home remedies are here to help you. Chances are that you will have many of the ingredients already in your home kitchen!
The number one remedy of all-time for beautiful skin is... Water! That's right. Water. Try drinking a minimum of 6-8 glasses of good old water each day, filtered (if possible). By keeping your body well hydrated you will expell toxins easier and it will help to keep your skin silky soft and properly moisturized.
The next best thing to do is form a good skin care and cleaning routine. Remove all makeup products from your skin as they are likely to block your pores that leads to acne breakouts and blackheads. Cleanse your face with a mild lotion before going to sleep. Don't wash to harshly to make your zits bleed, because you can damage your skin, especially if you have cysts.
After cleansing, apply a little benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to your problem areas to kill all the bacteria that cause acne. There are many products like Clearasil that contain these active ingredients. However, if you want a more natural approach, try using some tea tree oil or a little lemon juice. Simply use a cotton ball to apply to your face and body. You might need to dilute them with water if they are too strong or if you have sensitive skin.
If you decide to try out any of these treatments provided by nature, then you should remember to have patience. Acne takes time to heal and you should give yourself several weeks to really try out a new treatment. If you notice that your skin is getting too red or really dry, try using a little less or dilute the remedy some more with water until you find the perfect amount to use on your skin type.
Wash your pillow regularly. Your pillow absorbs oil, dirt and bacteria from your face each night because every little pimple adds up.
Next, we will look at how diet plays an important to your acne condition. By eating healthier foods, you will help to keep your internal body parts healthy and clean that will slowly refect itself on the outside. Try cutting down on fatty foods or processed foods that are high in sugar. Increase your fiber intake. Fruit and vegetables are a good idea because they contain skin protecting chemicals called antioxidants and vitamins that are essential for healthy skin.
Eating foods that are rich in beta-carotene and zinc are beneficial for preventing zits and also help the body to heal and scars that get left behind from your deeper cysts. Also try to remember never to pop a pimple because it can leave horrible scarring. A good way to get all of your required nutrients is to take a quality multivitamin supplement daily especially if you are a teen.
Other factors that can aggravate your acne or create breakouts are caffeine and stress. When you are a teenager going through puberty, your body reacts more than normally to any type of stress that it gets. During stress your body releases chemicals that trigger oil production in the pores. Caffeinated products such as coffee, energy drinks and tea have all been shown to raise stress levels.
Keeping check of all the ways mentioned above will give you a more holistic approach to treating your acne naturally.
