New Zealand Employment Opportunities
Thomas Pretty
New Zealand is a fairly new founded country in comparison to other countries around the world. There is no specific date in which New Zealand was founded but rough estimates suggest it was founded by the Maori tribe between AD 800 and AD 1300. The Maori tribe were looking for an island to settle on and found the island of New Zealand as the perfect place with its rich forests and wildlife.
However many of the natural wildlife was hunted or killed off to extinction leading to the humans being the dominant animal on the islands. The species that were killed off from New Zealand include many different types of ducks that inhabited the wetlands around the country's rivers and lakes. Other larger creatures that became extinct due to the Maori's emigration include all the different species of Moa including the Giant Moa that stood over 12ft tall and was hunted by the humans until their was none left. One of the predators that fed on Moa also became extinct due to a dwindling of their predominant prey animal. This was the famous Haast Eagle that was recorded as the largest Eagle ever to live.
Today on the other hand New Zealand is a beautiful but relatively small country with few very large cities. Many of the first settlers, the Polynesians live amongst the European settlers in the cities as well as in their own communities in the countryside.
New Zealand has been most famous in recent years for the setting of the World Famous Lord of the Rings film trilogy that broke many different film records when it was released back in 2003. New Zealand offered many great panoramic shots through the breathtaking hillside and mountain ranges. This allowed many of the settings to be totally natural and the scenery for the film made it a great success. This is one of the factors that has lead to many people deciding to emigrate to New Zealand. This is because they want to experience the same scenery that everybody saw in the films and to also visit the sets of the films.
Another reason why more people are recently deciding to emigrate to New Zealand is the economy. This is because there is a current deficiency in the countries economy where many crucial jobs that consist of specialist services such as nurses and teachers are short staffed. This means that people that are aiming to take one of these specialist jobs can be upgraded up the list to emigrate with the New Zealand Government offering them housing and for children, new schools set up to continue their education. This will allow families to continue their normal lives once they have settled into their new surroundings.
All of these factors mean that more and more people are being attracted to move from their home countries such as the UK to New Zealand to start a new life. Unfortunately due to the large influx of people emigrating to the country the Government from New Zealand they have had to put a limit to stop overcrowding apart from those with the right skills. This means people that want to emigrate to New Zealand will be able to move first if they fall into the many categories created by the New Zealand Immigration Service. Today your best chances of emigrating to New Zealand lie with the skills you possess as an employee, if your skills are in demand, you could be living down under in no time.
