Many people receive frequent calls at home from telesales staff that asks them if they have an injury claim. The compensation companies will hire people to strip-search the city for accident victims that may want financial compensation. Those persons are smartly dressed and they may inspire trust, but they are practically on a scavenger hunt.
They will stop at nothing, they will insist until they know they covered all the city and surrounding areas in their search for fresh cases. Why, I wouldn't be surprised if they would assign one 'guardian' to each and every one of us!
Injury claims didn't exist a few years ago
If we were to go back in time, say ten years ago, we would see that there was no such thing as financial <---****HYPERLINK****--->"http://www.100percent-compensation.co.uk/injury-claim/personal-injury-compensation/">compensation. No firms, no people roaming the streets searching for accident victims, no nothing. Having an accident meant dealing with your injuries all by yourself, with no palpable support from any firm, just moral consolation from your family and friends.
And what happens these days?
'We want to help you', yes, you hear this sentence coming from every direction. Good Samaritans left and right, everywhere you turn you find one. Most people will have at least one acquaintance that knows a 'good' firm. You can look no further than your relatives. Surely you'll find something if you ask them. So what is this anyway? Why are they all willing to help you now and why was there no one around ten years ago?
Suppose you decide to request the services of a claim company that was recommended by a friend of yours. If things go wrong, what are your options? File a report on your buddy? You probably won't. Another situation: your cousin takes the case but it seems now he has misplaced the required files. Will you call the firm and ruin your cousin's job? It's complicated. You want to know how your case is going, but you get no real answer.
It's too much...
Everybody knows about the old 'no win no fee' policy. 'If you don't win the case you don't have to pay a dime'. Just sign on the dotted line and your <---****HYPERLINK****--->"http://www.100percent-compensation.co.uk/injury-claim/personal-injury-claim/">personal injury claim is on the roll. Brilliant.
Now after a long time of waiting, you get no news about it. 3 months later, you give them a ring to know what status your claim has reached. 'Your case is given much attention and you will attend a medical specialist soon.'
6 months go by finally your medical arrives. 4 months later you receive a cheque of ?400 and eyes the size of golf balls?! What the hell is going on???
Any person in the right mind will give the firm a call, and try to get some answers. But the result is the same, the cheque doesn't get any bigger than that and the company politely explains that they had to extract some money for this and that. 'But, you... 'Yes, it's all in black and white and you signed it!' But guess what, you're too late, and now you'll learn from that mistake...
Now it gets even more interesting?
100% Compensation! WOW! Can it be true? Sounds really nice...
But there's something amiss
They don't lie to you about getting all the money. Yes, you get full compensation. Now this is the smart part... the specialist will payout 100% Compensation, but that does not mean the claim management company will not!
At the end of the claim, the management company (owned by your mate's friend) will charge you a certain amount after you got your 100% Compensation. Almost always, you receive 100% Compensation, but once you received it, the claim management company will now take out their fees.
You still, by law, got 100% Compensation from the firm. That's what they claimed right? The deductions only kick in afterwards.
But enough is enough already. It's time to be smart! Stay clear from the 100% Compensation slogans you hear around. How do you avoid them?
