Pictures Of Business Attire
Craig Calvin
When it comes to business, your appearance is everything. The way you look can make or break a deal. When it comes to clothing, knowing some basic rules on business attire is key.
The first rule of modern business attire is not to overdress. The classic black or navy blue suit and white shirt that was a business staple in the eighties will only make a statement that you are stuffy and stiff in the modern business world. Too many accessories or overdone 'helmet' hair is also a tip-off that you are out of touch with modern trends. The people who make decisions in the modern business world are looking for someone who is in touch with modern trends--in the corporate world and the fashion world alike.
Keep it simplified. You can express your individuality, just don't over do it. It is not wise too attract a lot of attention to yourself. You need to remain professional.
How can you walk this fine line? First, all of your business outfits should start with simple, classic pieces. Because these are timeless and meant to be worn for many years, you can splurge on superior materials and even have them tailored to be the most flattering to you. Start with black slacks in a fine wool fabric and high quality leather shoes that go with a variety of business outfits. Add some well tailored, high quality shirts. In the modern business world, things like sweaters that once were considered casual can be worn as an everyday business garment. Whether you are male or female, you should immediately begin building up a wardrobe of classic fashion staples that will stay with you for much of your business career.
Next, add your personal touch. Although you don't want to go overboard and look unprofessional, business people are expected to show a little personality in their dress. You can choose an unusual color for your shirt, or add an accessories such as a scarf or trendy earrings. The key here is moderation; while one personally expressive piece is a good idea, having two, three, or more may detract from your image and your message.
These tips will help you create a look that is both professional and unique. You want to look professional but not stand out too much. You want to reveal the business minded person that you are.
