All about Tribal Tattoo designs

About Tattoos

A tattoo is made by penetrating the skin with the needle and injecting ink
into that area. The word tattoo is related to the Samoan word ‘tatau' which
means “to strike or mark”. These
designs can be
either permanent or non-permanent. Non permanent means the temporary
tattoo
designs. Non-permanent designs are created by a tattoo piece which is pressed
on the dry skin. Instead the permanent tattoo designs are made with a tattoo
needle.
Early tattoos were done manually by the tattoo artist who would puncture the
skin with the needle and apply the ink by hand. Nowadays, it is
done by tattoo machine which is handheld electric machine that uses a tube
and a needle
system. The needles which are attached to the needle bars puncture the skin
at 50 to 3,000 times a minute. Tattoos have become more widely accepted
recently and the people who get them are as diverse as the styles and designs
they choose. Some of the people who think of tattooing pictures or symbols
onto
their bodies use permanent makeup to emphasize their eyes and lips.

About Tribal Tattoo Designs

Historically, tattooing was seen as a passage into adulthood.
A belief says that if a girl does not go through the pain of tattooing she
is un-marriageable, because she would never be able to deal with the pain of
child
birth. Likewise, if a boy would not deal with the pain he would be considered
as a bad warrior and could be sent away from the tribe. Some of the primitive
tribes of the Maori people of New Zealand used tattooing as a rite of social
status. Maori, a person's Moko designs enhanced their prestige and showed
transition from one social status to another. Tribal tattoo design is one of
the visually interesting designs and also
the best style in demand. The reason why
tattoos are
gaining
popularity is because of the meaning behind the art. In ancient times, tattoos
were used to indicate a person as a member of a group or a spiritual belief.
In other tribal areas, tattoos were used as ranks to indicate seniority and
power. In certain Asian tribal societies, tattoos were deliberately used to
mark
one person as a outcast or a foe. Tribal tattoo is typically
based on solid black line and coloring with bold and eye catching
style. This style of tattooing was done in the island of Borneo by the Dayak
people. It was done to represent a mythical beast that was part dog and part
dragon. It was most likely that some of the other ethnic groups on the very
same Borneo Island did not use this design. The Borneo rosette is a good
example of a traditional Borneo tattoo symbol which bears little resemblance
to the type
of tattoo design. The Tribal style of tattooing actually existed in Polynesia.
This style of tattooing is one of the inspired styles of those that have traditionally
been done in Polynesia for several years ago. The Samoan tattooing is based
on linear and geometric style, which is not unlike the design of Polynesia.
Most
of the cultures in the South Pacific did not traditionally tattoo arm bands.
However, tattooing has been practiced in every part of the globe; this tradition
is carried out from the ancient time till today. In the Modern society, besides
tattooing for aesthetic reasons these
tribal tattoos on the body is used to subtly command a certain amount of envy
and respect
among those looking. Tribal tattoos have the same effects when done carefully
and tastefully.
