Pregnancy 5 6 Weeks
Groshan Fabiola
With Lost currently airing its fourth season, the powers-that-be behind the mystery and adventure-packed series have already begun dribbling details surrounding upcoming seasons 5 and 6. Lost showrunners, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, spoke to the New York Post and offered a few hints on what fans of the cult program can brace themselves for.
"Season 4 is about who gets off the island and the fact that they need to get back," Lindelof said. "Season 5 is about why they need to get back, and season 6 is about what happens when they get back."
Aside from a general overview of their best-laid plans for Lost's fourth, fifth and sixth seasons, Cuse and Lindelof also gave up their inspiration for how they determined when to end the show. According to them, it was Harry Potter's bestselling author, J.K. Rowling, that helped gave them the idea to end the Lost television adventure after six seasons.
"When we heard her say that she was only writing seven [Harry Potters], we were inspired," Lindelof declared. "Franchise shows like Grey's Anatomy don't need to have a beginning, middle and end. They can bring in new doctors, nurses and patients, but shows like ours need to have a place to go."
Finally, the New York Post interview also shed light on the recent confusion surrounding Lost's broadcast scheduling plans for it's current fourth season lineup of installments. It is now confirmed that Lost will air seven episodes prior to taking a break, and then returning on April 24 with installments eight to 13. This supports reports alluding to the fact that episode seven offers a more sensible cliffhanger point than its successor.
"There will be very significant mysteries answered in the seventh episode," Cuse hinted. "The eighth episode is non-traditional and the start of something new."
