In todays fast pace life physical fitness is becoming necessary for the school going children. These fitness sessions contribute towards the growing importance of having a healthy and stress free life. Majority of the children live a hectic and stressed life accompanied with an unhygienic diet. This makes physical fitness their top priority not only at home but also in schools. But due to financial constraints most schools either cut down or stop the physical education sessions.
It's best to teach them young. If children learn proper physical fitness education they will build healthy habits for the rest of their lives. These physical education classes provide basic fitness knowledge and information about sports and athletic events and also impart health instruction in many school districts.
Physical fitness is not only about playing games. In fact, health classes teach kids about the functioning of the human body, basic development, sexual education, and first aid training. It is the duty of the school to inform the next generation about these things. Without physical fitness education the child's overall quality of life cannot improve.
The President's Physical Fitness program is one of the classic aspects of any physical education class. Children receive a certificate of achievement after they complete a series of tasks set by a Presidential panel. It is a matter of pride to receive this certificate. It shows kids of all ages and skill levels they can accomplish a goal.
Physical fitness education usually serves as the only means of exercise for a great many children in this country. In previous generations, children walked or rode their bicycles to and from school and engaged in physical activities outside of the classroom. These days, children are driven to school by a parent, car pool, or bus. After a day of sitting in a classroom, today's kids sit in their room and play video games, surf the internet, or watch television. Physical education classes offer their only chance for movement, often during the entire week!
It's your duty to raise your voice when you hear of plans to discontinue physical fitness education program in your child's school. Talk about it to the Parent and Teacher Association or at a meeting of the school board. Try to suggest ways and means and offer alternatives, but make sure that the school continues with the programs without alteration.
The common notion that Physical Fitness Education is not as important as the other subjects is absolutely incorrect. In fact, it is much more important since it provides the only physical activity and a base of knowledge for children beginning their healthy lives.
Work to see the importance of these programs and encourage your child's participation in them and other active extra curricular activities. Begin a fitness regimen with your child and strive to lead a healthy lifestyle. Remember, children learn from example and can easily pick up on your bad habits. Individuals who do not practice proper physical fitness or engage in unhealthy lifestyles can influence children into also adopting this way of life.
