Symptoms Of Peanut Allergy
Naomi
Nut allergy is rather popular in both children and adults and it can as well be some of the worst to ward off. That is because peanuts are used in a mixture of food dishes even if in a tiny way. Individuals that are allergic to peanuts are normally also allergic to other types of nuts that include; walnuts, pecans, cashews, brazil nuts, and macadamias.
When a person consumes these kinds of nuts their immune system will turn its switch to overdrive. It is under the impression that it is being attacked by something that could be harmful. Actually this allergy and most other types of allergies are stimulated because the immune system is misreading the foreign factor that has been breathed in or consumed.
When the immune system distinguishes this ?harmful? factor it will produce antibodies called immunoglobulin that will battle it. These antibodies will cause the body to release peculiar types of chemicals that will spread all over the body. One of the most essential of these chemicals is histamine - which can affect the person's skin, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, and the cardiovascular system. When these regions are affected they will stimulate the popular symptoms associated with any kind of allergy.
The symptoms and reactions from nuts will be various in individuals. Some individuals will have only moderate responses - while others will have a more intense response and oftentimes have to be taken to the hospital. There are four contrasting regions of the body that can be affected; skin, respiratory system, gastrointestinal system, and cardiovascular system.
Skin
Hives
Redness
Swelling
Eczema
Respiratory System
Itch, watery eyes
Sneezing
Runny nose
Coughing
Wheezing
Gastrointestinal System
Nausea
Diarrhea
Belly Cramps
Vomiting
Cardiovascular System
Faint
Lightheadedness
People who suffer from the more extreme symptoms will go into anaphylaxis. This symptom is deathly and will cause a tremendous amount of swelling of the airways preventing airflow in and out. This will cause the individual to suffocate and it can decrease their blood pressure. The lowest amount or touch from nuts can create this reaction.
