Among these destructive stains is rust. A brush against a rusted appliance, furniture or equipment can already transfer a stain to your clothing. With rust removal products, these stains can be easily removed.
However, don't be too hasty to immediately apply your rust remover to avoid further damage. Assess first if the rust stain had penetrated deep into the fabric. If it hadn't, then a treatment may not be needed. All you have to do is simply wash your clothing with the usual detergent.
On the other hand, if the stain is in severe condition, a complete rust stain treatment is definitely needed. To make this treatment effective, rust removers must be rightfully picked. You can choose to buy them or you can produce them personally.
Whichever way you choose, make sure that you know these three things: the pros, the cons and the requirements. By knowing these three important things, you will have sufficient knowledge. And with sufficient knowledge, you will be able to weigh which means will work best.
If you decide to purchase the rust removal product that you will use, make sure to accurately follow the instructions. But if in case you think that producing or using natural rust removers will produce more benefits, then gather as much knowledge as you can on techniques, tips and recipes on how to effectively produce and use them. Here are some of that tips that can help you remove rust stains using organic rust removers.
- Try using lemon juice and water. Simply mix the two of the same amount and you will have your very own home made rust removal product. Apply the mixture on the rusted spot and let it sit there for about 30 minutes. Then, simply wash your clothing.
- Use cream of tartar as your rust remover. Rub it into the stain and then wash the clothing in hot soapy water. An alternative process is to boil the garment with 4 tablespoon cream of tartar to every 1 pint of water.
- Salt and cream of tartar can also be combined to produce a natural rust removal product. Mix the two using an equal amount and spread it on the garment. Dry the clothing under the sun and if the stain is removed, wash it. If otherwise, repeat the process.
