I am often asked if it is possible to start up an online business from scratch and spend nothing at all? I am convinced that absolutely anything is possible if you have the determination to succeed. But I am also a realist so I would have to point out that there are easier ways to build an online business.

One big problem with online business is that people have been led to believe in the idea of creating overnight riches without any input either financially or in actual physical effort. This is in fact pure fantasy and the only folks getting rich from any such idea are those peddling them. You won't get anything for nothing and there are no free lunches out there.

Online business is no different from any other kind of busines endeavor, you need to speculate to accumulate. If say for instance you wanted to invest in well known fast food chain and open your own franchise how much do you think it would cost you? There are rumors circulating that the cost for such an enterprise now runs into over one million dollars! You then have the right to sell the companies fast food to an eager and ready market who are well aware of the brand.

Bearing this in mind how on earth can anyone believe there is the potential to earn thousands of dollars online without investing a dime? Once you get your head around this often ignored fact you are on your way to actually making some money from internet marketing or online business. For those who are not prepared to invest a little time and money success will be a long time coming for sure unless they get very very lucky.

This does not mean that a huge investment is required to earn a living on line either. With a small amount of money invested many entrepreneurs have built huge online businesses and now reap the rewards for very little ongoing effort. The key to online success is to build steadily and reinvest your profits no matter how small they may be until your business can support you. This can happen a lot quicker than most people imagine if they are prepared to follow a proper business program.

There are literally thousands of great online business programs out there costing only a few dollars a month to run that pay some excellent returns on your input. The hard truth is that if you are not prepared to put a little in you should forget about home business altogether because it's not for you. Neither is home business a cure all for those in debt or people looking to get rich quick. If you are in debt you need to take debt counseling and if you want to get rich quick pray for a lottery win but don't mess about with online home business.

So if you are prepared to work steadily and invest a little of your own funds, a home business program may well be just the thing you are searching for. Remember to do your home work first before diving in and always check out a program by searching the name followed by the word "scam". There will always be winners and losers in online home business but persistence is sure to take you a long way towards your business goals. My watchword is "be consistently persistent" and you will make it in the end.
