Arthor Pens
The state unclaimed money amount in the United States of America is billions but the specific dollar amount of lost cash being held by the states is difficult to establish. National estimates say that the total is over $10 billion in unclaimed state money and some figures are as high as $45 billion. These figures also state over 26 million Americans have unclaimed state money or property owed them which they have no idea about.
Whether or not you get the slightest inkling that you may be owed unclaimed money there is a chance there is some state lost money that is rightfully yours, there are tools out there to help you find it.
It is quite obvious this is a huge chunk of the US citizens and one of those people could be you. It is not necessary to be positive that money is due to you.
The real situation lies in the fact that each state in the country has its own policies and ways of handling unclaimed money and each state has its own database of these funds.
To search for and uncover unclaimed state money, you will need to look separately with each state where money may be held. Most states have websites that will help you in your search. If they don't, you will have to contact the state unclaimed property administrators office.
State unclaimed money may be easier to find. You don't have to search each state if you search a database, like the one at cashunclaimed.com, that has money from all state databases and even federal databases.
There is not really anything you need to know or do except for put your name into the missing money search box. It is good to know the addresses you lived at previously, the possible sources of the unclaimed state money and anything else you can remember about your financial history that may be helpful.
Before you get started searching, all you have to do is make a list of all the people you care about that you would want to find lost money for themselves.
An easier alternative will be to go to the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA). NAUPA is the association of state departments that administer state lost money and the website provides access to nearly all the state databases on unclaimed state money. You will still have to search through each state, but you can do it from one place.
Be patient and careful in your search ? the databases of unclaimed state money will contain information as received from the company or agency that was unable to make the payment and there may be spelling errors in the names and addresses. If you are able to locate unclaimed state money that belongs to you or an inheritance that you are entitled to, the websites will guide you in the procedure for making the claim.
TIP: The biggest tip I can offer is to search in a quality missing money database. So, what exactly is a ?Quality? missing money database? Basically, it is a searchable database that lets you enter your name to see if any of the lost money is reported as owed in your name.
Search databases include cashunclaimed.com and usunclaimed.com.
Finding the money is a simple search and claiming it only takes a few minutes of admin. So, what are you waiting for? Find and claim your state unclaimed money today!
