The Kimbell Art Museum
James Carl
Fort Worth often loses attention because of its more famous neighbor Dallas. Dallas might get more attention but For Worth has just as many popular attractions as its neighbor. It actually might have more. The city is home to a number of art and history attractions. One of the most popular is the Kimbell Art Museum. Keep reading and learn a little more about this museum.
The Kimbell Art Museum is a world quality museum that was originally founded in 1972. The building itself was designed by noted architect Louis Kahn and was built to house the collection of Kay Kimbell. The building is very unique in that it has no interior walls. This allows for the operators of the museum to use moveable walls to design and arrange exhibits. The museum is famous as being a great place to present art which means that the museum plays host to a number of traveling and temporary exhibits. There is always a new exhibit being shown at the Kimbell. Besides the temporary exhibits it also has a notable collection of permanent ones however. It contains work from such artists as Van Gogh, Rubens, Rembrandt, Monet, Picasso, Cezanne and many more. The list is almost too extensive to list in a short article. The museum is one of a kind and has something for everyone. Although it is not the biggest museum in the country it is perhaps one of the most beautiful. This makes it a must see for anyone visiting Fort Worth.
If you would like to visit the museum you can find it at 3333 Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas. The museum's information line is 817-332-8451. You should call this number to get current hours and to find out about current exhibitions being hosted at the museum. Have fun.
