Tension Setting Rings or Tension rings Tension diamond rings are based on the principle of retaining a gemstone under the pressure exerted by the strength of the metal alone. The qualities of few metals allowed their use in creating new concepts in tension setting engagement rings, tension men's rings, tension wedding rings, tension set diamond engagement rings and many other designs. Tension setting engagement rings, Tension setting diamond rings and tension wedding rings are growing in popularity as no other style may match their beauty and elegance. Tension setting diamond rings and tension wedding rings are growing in popularity as the style is safe, solid and beautiful! Any other style can hardly match the beauty of a Tension setting engagement ring. Almost the entire of a tension mounted diamond is exposed to the eye and to the effects of light.
Tension diamond rings are in fact setting under pressure rather than tension, so the use of the word "Tension" in tension rings and tension setting is somewhat of a blunder. This form of diamond setting was used first in Germany and Prof. Becker is credited with its inception in the 1950s. It was then heavily marketed in the 1980s by the Niessing Company of Germany.
The principle in a Tension diamond ring is based on retaining a gemstone under the pressure exerted by the metallurgical strength of the metal alone. In other words, the diamond is held squeezed by the springiness of the ring, so that a gemstone placed within the gap in the ring under pressure. In the case of precious metals, the tensile strength of the alloys used may reach the upwards of 12,000 psi (that's pounds per square inch!). Accordingly, a Tension Setting ring can retain only a gemstone of hardness of 9 or more on the Mhoe scale, i.e. Cubic Zirconia, Rubies, Sapphires and of course, diamonds.
The styles were introduced to North America by designer Steven Kretchmer and later by Gelin & Abaci (G&A). All used special techniques to get special alloys of precious metals, strong and springy. This was achieved through work hardening and other treatments.
In the late 1990, very few designers realized the potential opportunities hidden in the strength and other qualities of those metals and the ability to use them in creating new designs in tension setting engagement rings and tension wedding rings.
The designers of Absolute Titanium Design Studios were amongst the first to take advantage of these newly discovered properties. They used titanium and later zirconium metals in creating new tension diamond ring styles and tension earrings. Their creative touches have fashioned several original designs for tension men's rings, tension set diamond engagement rings and many other designs that are all protected as proprietary designs.
Furthermore, in introducing their ?Black Zone? (TM) Absolute Titanium Design Studios are offering all their tension setting bands also in black zirconium metal and in their in house developed, proprietary black titanium. With an interesting collection of tension setting designs, there are endless possibilities to have your black tension setting in either black titanium tension rings or black zirconium tension settings.
To enhance the value and the beauty of their rings, they are using conflict free ethical Igloo diamonds, a brand of Canadian diamonds, as well as Lab Grown diamonds, as an ethical alternative to replace other gemstones.
With all these facts in mind, Absolute Titanium Design Studios obtained the legal rights for the slogan ?The Tension is Mounting??. Their rings use Tension Settings in their mounting in creating unique Tension Engagement Rings. A diamond tension ring is presented... the question is popped... ?the tension is mounting?... And, hopefully, the Tension setting does it...
Where else, after all, in one's life cycle, one experiences more mounting tension?
