Before joining any online opportunity read the terms of service. You might be really surprised to find out what is expected of you from the supposedly ?Free? Online business opportunity.
If a site doesn't have a terms of service, privacy policy or a contact page run as fast as you can. Most of these sites are scams.
I know what many are thinking, ?But the terms on most sites are all the same.? This might be true but in-between the same old babble you might find,?Accounts found to be inactive and not clicking 50 email ads in a 15 day period and requesting payment will be terminated.? or perhaps,?Just because you have requested payout does not mean you can become inactive, you will be paid within terms so stay active or your account will be deleted. And will not be reinstated no matter who you are!? Or maybe this, ?You must also if a free member have at least 50% of total earnings in email ads to be paid.?
Important things are hidden in the terms you may not find in the FAQ or on the homepage: Affiliate programs minimum payout
- Requirements for a ?Free? Upgrade
- No Minimum may have stipulations for each processor
- Minimum click requirements to keep your account
- Rules for using certain features
- Sites which state ?Free to join? and require you upgrade
- Activity Requirements
- Earning Requirements for earning from referrals
- Link values
- Payout time
Then there are strange little things one would never expect to see in terms. Be leery of sites with personal rants in their terms. No one wants to join a site where the owner spends a good deal of their time airing their dirty laundry. Look for professionalism in the site.
When you signup for online opportunities whether it be an affiliate program, Paid to Read site, Rewards program or anything that you will be earning money from take the time to go through the terms. You may be agreeing to something you would never have agreed to if you had known that it was in the terms.
