The Dog Whisperer A Compassionate Nonviolent Approach To Dog Training
Dr. Mayra Alfonso
Dog training is a method done to dogs in order to train them to perform several behaviors during a particular situation as well as particular commands or roles. There are several areas where these dog training methods are implemented. Usually, these methods, or mixed methods are implemented on certain areas of training. The common types of dog training are obedience, tracking, agility, hunting, retrieving, schutzhund and guard.
Wild dogs encompass innate instincts which approve mutual efforts among other dog companions. These innate instincts were perfected and exaggerated over the past years through selective breeding done by dog owners, and are apparent with domestic canines' ability at properly defining as well as acknowledging to signals which was uttered by the dog handler. Dog handlers are individuals who work and provide dog training to canines.
Majority of dogs, irregardless of what their purpose or advanced dog training they possess, live with humans meaning they must behave in a manner that will make them fun to be with, as well as to maintain safety for the dogs, people and other pets. Dogs can't determine how to do basic dog obedience by themselves; therefore they must undergo dog training.
The most difficult method in training a dog is to be able to communicate with them in our way that they will comprehend. Though, the fundamental concept of the entire communication is that rewards the desired behavior and ignores or corrects undesired behavior.
Some of the basic dog obedience training includes 5 behaviors such as sit, down, stay, recall and close. There are times where you can teach your pet in an extraordinary way just as to do some twist with the behavior such as sit. In some instance when you want to train your dog to do "sit", you could hold a reward or dog biscuit and show it to your pet, the dog will soon get excited and that is the time when you let go of the treat and put it somewhere where your dog will most likely do the "sit" behavior. When he sits, you tell him "sit" and give the dog a reward. The dog will then understand that what he did is to sit and he will eventually learn the behavior.
Recall command is the most significant of the entire dog training commands. It is strategic to not punish a canine if he answers to a recall command. Punishing a dog when recalled can put a thought to the dog that he will receive punishment upon a recall command. If the dog needs to be corrected, the handler should approach the dog and not the dog to be called to be punished.
Correction must never involve harmful physical assault or violence. When you utilize force during training, it is most likely that your dog won't obey and learn. The task should be performed lightly, because if the training is improperly implemented, the dogs may loos enthusiasm and interest to a certain command, thus giving them stress and aggression in some cases, which most of us wouldn't want to happen.
