You surely have heard before the saying ?time is money?. In today's fast paced societies, time has become an increasingly valuable resource. We always seem to run out of it and it is not something that can be created. It is then very important to maximize your time whenever you can. Maximizing your time is a way to achieve more and free up time for other activities.

How many time have you wanted to read a book, only to think to yourself a few seconds after ?but when? I just do not have time?. As you know, reading is a time intensive activity. It's just not very fast paced. So what is one to do? Give up reading altogether? Discard it as an activity of yore, when life was slow paced and people had more free time? Thankfully, no you do not have to give up reading. Reading is a fantastic activity that stimulates the brain, makes you discover new things, etc. Giving it up would be a great loss.

The solution then: speed reading. You may have heard of it before. And no it's not something for useless competitions, it is something that you can employ to your benefit. Speed reading, increasing your reading speed, like all things comes with practice. You have to at first make a conscious effort to increase your reading speed. Be careful not to push it too much though, always make sure to still understand what you are reading, otherwise, what is the point right?

Speed reading is made up of a set of techniques designed to increase your reading speed. By how much? Usually, speed reading allows you to double your reading speed. Would it not be great? Imagine, this is like reading twice as much or needing half less time!

Think about it?today's societies are so competitive that every little edge you can have against your competitors is precious. If your job is in any way related to the reading, writing field, you just have to be able to read faster than the norm, this will give you a tremendous edge. Like with all things it will be difficult at first, we tend to resist any change to our comfortable routine, however if you push through you will be rewarded with more time and you will be able to achieve more.
