The Blue Oyster Cult

Who doesn't love that SNL skit featuring Christopher Walken that includes a parody with the Blue Oyster Cult hit, “Don't Fear the Reaper?” The Blue Oysters were perhaps best known for this classic song, only without the cowbell. Now fans can enjoy some good old fashioned vinyl records, full of Blue Oyster Cult melodies. Sony BMG Music Entertainment is releasing the group's breakout album, Agents of Fortune, which includes the classic, “Don't Fear the Reaper.” With this special vinyl edition, you will feel like you are right back in the 1970s, so get ready for some real hard rock music with Blue Oyster Cult and add in some cowbell if you like. It may be somewhat difficult to enjoy the slimy shelled treat at all times throughout the year, but it's not quite as hard to get your hands on a pair of Blue Oyster Cult tickets. Blue Oyster Cult is an American rock band from the 1960s that is still entertaining audiences around the world. Join the cult and invite your friends to see these rockers really light up the stage.
Blue Oyster Cult formed in New York in 1967 and are most likely best known for three songs: “Don't Fear The Reaper,” “Burnin' For You” and “Godzilla.” The band is considered to be a pioneer in heavy metal music both for its hard-edged musical assault and also its use of sci-fi and occult imagery. Thus far it has sold over 14 million albums worldwide. They are often categorized under several genres, those being hard rock, psychedelic rock, heavy metal and progressive rock. The current members of this “cult” band include Eric Bloom, Buck Dharma, Rudy Sarzo, Richie Castellano and Jules Radino. See all of these talented musicians with your pair of Blue Oyster Cult tickets.
Their debut self-titled album was released in January of 1972, and they quickly followed it up with two other releases: “Tyranny and Mutation” as well as “Secret Treaties,” both released in the early 1970s. Throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s, Blue Oyster Cult did exceptionally well on the charts. They became known for their intense sound and their ability to play hard music. They were different from type of music that had appeared on the radio thus far, and that is what helped them sell records.
Although they had a lull in production starting in the mid 1980s, the band continued to tour around the world. Their popularity has not seemed to fade, especially among their most dedicated of fans. Perhaps part of the reason they stuck around is because of their originality and their desire to keep on touring even after all of these years. And of course, a highly popular SNL skit featuring the dead-panned Christopher Walken couldn't hurt any either. If you want to become a part of this cult, be sure to pick up a pair of Blue Oyster tickets soon and enjoy the show!
