Some people are not content with living in a small city, but those that are will probably never leave such a life for anything in the world. Small cities exist for various reasons, such as, employment shortage, lack of education facility and so on; however, there are so many ways, in which a small city life can be far more satisfying, fulfilling and pleasurable than a large city life.

It has been observed that small towns are vanishing these days. For political, economical and social reasons, small cities are not surviving. It is uttermost important that we do the necessary that is needed to help the small cities survive. People from small cities generally have more originality and find it easier to think out of the box. This is one of the reasons that there have been more inventions from people that come from small cities than any other sector. This alone is a major reason to help these small communities.

Community events can play a very important role in helping small cities to survive. These events can bring people from other communities that spend money and help the economy. The friendships that you form in a small city are usually those that are long lasting and can be termed friendship in the true sense, since the friendship you form there is not because of your wealth or your social standing, instead, it is because of who you are as a person and how you are as a person. A friend in a small city is likely to be there for you at all times. Such friends do exist in a large city however they are not as easy to come by.

Imagine a wedding in a small city, the whole town will be aware of the wedding and it will be celebrated by everyone, as if, they all were a part of one big happy family. Where as, in a large city, your own neighbor may not even know or care if someone next door was getting married.

Small cities are important; they are the backbone of the country. All large cities started as a small city and for one reason or another grew into a large city. There are plenty of advantages of living in a smaller city. The accommodation expense in a small city is far less than that of in a larger city. An amount that will allow you to buy a small, one bedroom, apartment in a large city, will allow you to buy a spacious house in smaller city. An apartment may be suitable for a young couple, but, a house is the American Dream, and likely choice, if you are looking to start a family, since, everyone is going to need a room of their own. From that point of view, life in a small city is far more advantageous than of that in a larger city.

Life in a small city is also convenient and can be easier to establish a business, due to the fact that there is a lot less competition in smaller cities. The problem you may have is that there are not enough people to support your business which then you have to stretch to larger cities to expand and build further contacts. However, in the long run, the small city contacts are the ones that prove to be the longest lasting.

People who live in smaller cities also lead very peaceful lives, as they are far away from the stress of the larger cities, the running around and the overall tension of keeping pace with the large city life. In a smaller city, the pace of life is a lot slower and relaxed, which is why, people tend to lead far less complicated lives and as a result, healthier lives. It is because of this that people who live in smaller cities have longer life spans.
