Depending on where you're getting married will make a difference on who you choose as a photographer. This is because outside in Hawaii there is almost always a lot more light than necessary for photographs. This is both good and bad and your photographer should have a lot of experience for an indoor/outdoor wedding so your pictures are the best they can be.

When you find the photographer of your choice be sure to see plenty of their past wedding pictures. Mix and match the photos from different weddings so you can see from year to year and indoor or outdoor wedding pictures. This will give you the variety you need to see their experience level and standard of quality.

Some photographers will show off their photos from certain wedding locations so you can get a feel for how your photos will turn out at your venue or location. If your photographer doesn't have this you shouldn't be discourage from using them. Just be sure to see enough pictures to make a determination.

Photographers can shoot many styles and some are better than others at achieving certain styles. So if you know what you want before you hire a photographer than you'll be happy with your decision. If you find a photographer that does really nice traditional shots but you're hoping for the love story type of shot then you'll have wished for a different person on your wedding day.

You can sometimes request your wedding photos in different formats including cd, prints, dvd, or other options. No matter what you decide, don't find out afterward what you're getting because you'll have hoped for something else.

Other details to work out are reprints and portraits. Reprints are when someone in your family wants to order more of your wedding pictures after the wedding. You can usually order reprints for years but be sure your photographer will be in business or turn over your originals to you upon request if this is important to you.

Photo albums are becoming more popular, especially custom albums, and they can be so adorable if done correctly. Some photographers are true artists when it comes to publishing your custom wedding album. Just ask to see a few samples if you're interested in this service.

Personality is also important because you're going to be spending a lot of time with this person and you want to feel comfortable around them. Also finding someone who can disappear when necessary can make for some great candid shots.

Most photographers like to show off their camera like it means something to you (unless you're a fellow photographer). In that case, you don't need this article. However, the only reason to pay any attention to what they say about their camera is to make sure it's newer and/or can produce quality images. Outside of that, it's not really of concern to you.
