In their rush to make money quickly online, many people try to run before they have learnt to walk. If you want to be a professional soccer star, a musician, an IT whizz kid, a singer, there are certain things that you must know and do first before you reach this status.
There are of course many people who will tell you that all you have to do is set up a website and the money will roll in.
Having said that, I think it is tons better than working for a boss, who doesnt really care about you, but there are still rules to follow even though you may be your own boss.
Let me share something with you here. Most people who go online do not make a single dime for their efforts, and yet there are some people who make a small fortune, so why the difference?
My answer begins with the age-old chicken or egg question, "what comes first the chicken or the egg"? Personally I vote for, well never mind, each argument you or I make comes back to the same old conclusion - I have no clue and I don't think many of us do either.
But an answer which I can give to you is this. In order for you to be a success online you must passionately believe in the product or service that you are offering and from which you hope to make some money.
By passionately believing in the product I mean that you must know for sure that it is good, and that it will do what it says on the label, and will help your customers in some way.
Yes, its true of course that many successful entrepreneurs can get by without a great love or knowledge of the product that they are selling, but for those of you just starting out what I said in the previous paragraph holds true.
Just to restate things, having a love for your product or service will make your chances of success a bit more likely. Couple this with good advertising, an interesting website, good company support etc., and you are well on your way.
There is an old saying "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" and this is true. But if you have no positive feelings about the product or service that you are offering, then when the going gets tough you will probably abandon the work and look for something else.
Is internet marketing a hard job and a time consuming job? Well no, not really. But it does require you to be passionate about it so that even when you don't feel like it you will press on to get the job done.
As with any business, you need to learn as much as you can about internet marketing, and where better to go than the many search engines that are available to help you in your searching.
What will you be searching for? Well, a company whose products you can feel happy about promoting, and that you can believe in and that you know will be a help to your customers.
