Give your forwarding address to the post office, usually two to four weeks ahead of the move. Notify your credit card companies, magazine subscriptions, and bank of the change of address. Six items to have on hand for the new owners are owners manuals for items left in the house. Warranties for any items left in the house. A list of local service providers as in the best dry cleaner, yard service, etc. Garage door opener. Extra sets of house keys. Do not forget to include the code to the burglar alarm and the phone number of the monitoring service if it will not be discontinued by the new owners.
