I can still remember my first watch. It was a see saw watch. It had a girl on one side and a boy on the other side, and they went back and forth on the teeter tauter. A kids first watch is a very important gift, and one that is very memorable. Of course, as I grew older, my interests changed. I went from the boy who had a teeter tauter watch to a team logo watch. I still have that watch, and I will never forget when I got it.

It was when I was eight years old. My great grandpa was a baseball sports fan, and he is the one who really got me interested in team sports. I had everything you could think of with the team logo on it. From jerseys to ball caps (which I had at least ten) to garbage cans to my lamp to baseball cards, if there was a team logo on it, I had to have it. However, I did not have a logo watch.

I can still remember the first time I watched my favorite team with my great grandpa on T.V. and then the very first live game he took me to. Sitting in the stands, waiting for the ball to be struck, and then seeing that home run is an amazing feeling. Even more amazing is when that ball comes your way, and you actually catch it! For so many years, I waited with anticipation for that ball to come my way, and finally it did!

I was so proud to be there with my great grandpa wearing that special team logo watch. And even though my great grandpa is no longer with me, the memories we created together will always be in my heart. And, when I see my team logo watch, all the memories come flooding back. I dont think about my great grandpa not being with me anymore, I smile and remember the great times we had together, and the time he gave me my first team logo watch.

Since then, I have upgraded to a more mature team logo watch. One that is a little more durable to withstand my construction career. I wear my watch everyday. And, even though this is not the watch my great grandpa gave to me, I think of him every time I put it on. It is amazing how meaningful a simple gift of a team logo watch can have on a persons life.

Because of the impact this simple gift has had on my life, I am now passing down my logo watch that my great grandpa gave to me to my son. I intend on taking him to his first live game this year, and I will give him the watch right before we go, and I will tell him the story of how I received this valuable, special gift and how important this watch is to me.

Team logo watches can truly be a way to create memories for years to come. I was lucky to have a grandpa that invested so much time with me. I just want to be able to give my son that connection with me that I felt with my grandpa. And, I wanted to give my son an opportunity to start a tradition of his own to pass down to his children!
