Once you get an Apple iPhone you will soon find that it becomes your most used electronic device. Since it offers features like internet access, the ability to play music and an intuitive user interface your iPhone is able to replace several different devices. Still, on top of all the other features it is still a cell phone and as such there as several things you would expect it to do in that respect. One thing that the iPhone promised before launch was that it would be very easy to send text messages and once you have used an iPhone you will see just how quick and easy it is.
If you are used to using your cell phone to send MMS messages then you may be a little disappointed with the Apple iPhone. Despite having a plethora of superior features it lacks the ability to send MMS messages. Most modern cell phones allow MMS messaging and it can be a great way for you to keep your contacts up to date with your current activities. Quite understandably there was an outcry when it became public knowledge that the iPhone doesn't support MMS.
The lack of the ability to send MMS messages may be a major turn off for any prospective iPhone customers. Fortunately there is a way around this with the iPhone. While you can't actually send a MMS message you can use the inbuilt e-mail capabilities and still be able to deliver your pictures directly to your friend's cell phones.
This is actually very simple to achieve with the iPhone. All you need to do is pick the photo that you would like to send and tap on the send photo link which you will find in the bottom left hand side of your iPhone. This will actually send the photo via e-mail but this doesn't mean that your friend has to have e-mail set up on their cell phone. Your e-mail will be delivered to them in the form of a MMS message.
To send the MMS message, you will include the recipient's phone number along with their carrier's e-mail prefix. An example of this would be 3145556847@tmomail.net for a T-mobile telephone number. This does require that you know who your recipient's carrier is, however, all you have to do is ask your friend who their cell phone carrier is. After you have done this, you will be able to send the MMS message to them, and they will receive it like a MMS text message.
The MMS email address formats for the major carriers are as follows: Amp'd Mobile - number@vzwpix.com, Alltel - number@message.alltel.com, AT&T/Cingular - number@mms.att.com, Sprint/Nextel - number@messaging.sprintpcs.com, T-Mobile - number@tmomail.net, Verizon - number@vzpix.com and Virgin Mobile - number@vmobl.net.
