Feng shui is about being in harmony with your surrounding environment. This occurs trough the placement of items in a space in such a manner as to make sure the flow of energy is unimpeded and, for lack of a better word, smooth.
Indoor pollution is a huge, but often unknown problem, in many homes. You need fresh air before you can even hope to use Feng Shui. Open the windows in your bedroom whenever possible and let things circulate.
If you want to watch the television, you should go to a room set up for that purpose. The bedroom should not be that room. The focus of energy in your bedroom should be on the bed, so ditch the tv distraction.
The second phenomena of clutter in the bedroom is the exercise equipment. Whether you end up using it as a clothes hanger or actually use it for exercise, the bedroom is not the place to have it. It interferes with the flow of energy so move it out.
You should seek two things in the bedroom, rest and intimacy. Does a blaring light help either of these? No. Use soft lighting and even a dimmer to create an atmosphere of harmony with soft, flowing tranquility.
In concert with the lighting are the colors used in the bedroom. Neon or aggressive colors are a bad idea. Soothing, tranquil colors should be used with a soft blending pattern. Try to use organic skin colors ranging from off white to darker brown.
As you can probably surmise, the bed is the prime component of your bedroom. Put the bed on a wall not share by the door. Use two tables on each side of the headboard. Use high quality cotton sheets and make sure the bed can be approached on both sides.
Feng Shui strategies for the bedroom have been used for thousands of years in China. China has a rather large population. You do the math. Give it a try and you will be amazed at how much better your bedroom experience is.
