Search engine optimization, link management services is one of the hottest area of online traffic generation today.

In the past, a wide range of traffic gimmicks and fads have come and gone, but one of the mainstays is that of natural search engine traffic. Natural search engine traffic, of course, being the non-paid results that come up when you use a search engine, versus the sponsored results in the search engine.

So search engine optimization is critically important. When we talk about search engine optimization, we talk about two areas of search engine optimization, on-page and off-page.

I will give you a quick briefing on each here.

On-page search engine optimization includes things that you can do to your web page to make it more search-engine friendly. Some of these items are:

1) Put your keyword in your title

2) Put your keyword in the description

3) Put your keyword in a header tag

4) Put your keyword in a keyword tag.

5) Use the keyword on the web page early in the page, late in the page, and a few times within the page.

Off-page search engine optimization includes primarily link management.

The key with search engine optimization, link management services is to basically have a balanced amount and type of web sites linking in to your web site. The number and quality of links coming into your web site highly influences the way your web site is ranked against other similar web sites (web sites competing for the same search terms, or keywords).

Here is how to do it:

1) Find out in general how many links and the quality of those links, of the web sites that are ranking in the top ten results for the search term or keyword for which you wish to rank.

2) Develop more and better links than the top ten – and you should pretty quickly move into the top ten page.

Here is how to develop links:

1) Offer to exchange links with other web masters (my least favorite)

2) Write articles and submit them to the top 100 article directories (you receive and inbound link from each one that accepts your articles)

3) Submit your web page url to the top 100 web directories online.
