Every year in the United States approximately 2.4 million accidental burn injuries are reported; 20,000 of which involve burns over at least twenty five percent of the body. One million of these victims, through no fault of their own, will sustain substantial or permanent disabilities as a result of their injury-but only a small percentage will receive the compensation they deserve.
