The history of the River Walk area dates back to the late 1600s when group of missionaries and Spanish explorers came upon the waters of the Yanaguana. The city of San Antonio was established many years later in the early 1700s when the Alamo, or the Mission San Antonio De Valero, was established. Today, the river walk is a beautiful historic district that has something to delight every visitor.
