Fans of the pop group the Pussycat Dolls and their namesake television series are highly familiar with Robin Antin, who founded the burlesque group in 1995 and has helmed them ever since. Without giving away too many concrete details, the empress of the franchise offered some clues as to the direction of the latest upcoming season, Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. Antin is no longer looking for just one new Doll, but an entire new ensemble of female performers who will make up the new pop group, named Girlicious. Despite keeping her lips sealed on more particular and specific information, she said that the search this time around was much more challenging.

Given that they're now looking for a team of girls instead of just one, it comes as no surprise that it would be tougher than the previous Search for the Next Doll. During a special CW Network press event, Antin was accompanied by two runners-up from the last season of the show, Chelsea Korka and Melissa Reyes. The founder of the Pussycat Dolls likewise doled out a few select teasers for the new season, explaining that many of the girls who were trying out this time around were emulating their first season applicants. Among the criteria for the new hopefuls was their ability to fit together and cooperate as a group, plus their actual performing skill coupled with their melding personalities as team players.

Antin further hinted that although she might appreciate a girl's enthusiasm and willingness to work hard, their actual talent might not make the cut, leading to more drama. She's also more directly involved now with helping the girls along as they perform and try to prove themselves. There were hints dropped that Mikey Minden would also be coming back for the news season. Finally, Antin also said that a certain male performer would be guest starring on the series to help guide the contestants with tips on working and performing together as a group.
