In most basic offices you will see that it may have a computer desk, filing cabinets, and chairs. For a work area that needs to be specialized, more thought needs to be added so that any job can be done efficiently as well as comfortably.
As for medical office furniture, it is a prime example of how it does not need to fit everyone. By that, it is usually at a work station in a normal environment of doctors; therefore, it will not be sat on by many visitors or clients; but only doctors.

When it comes to medical office furniture, it is known to be a great clinical setting because it appears to have an impression to the public where as a normal work setting does not. In a medical setting, the clients and patients see the area which tends to calm them down a bit. If the furniture is not designed to be for a medical office, in many cases, the people will tend to wonder about the services of the office.
In the end, the particular medical setting has a demand of needing specialized medical furniture to achieve what it needs; any office that doesn't use the furniture ends up sending the wrong message to its patients.
