Synonymous with world 'camels and cattle s largest fair, the Pushkar Fair is a unique experience. The onset of winter bringing fresh winds from the west of the south, sand dunes or reflecting different colors with each phase of the Sun; add color not only normal men and women dressed or vibrant shops selling colorful variety of goods, but the camels and cattle also decorated and adorned which are on sale here. The charm of the show and also the reason behind him becoming the world-renowned exhibition is original and charming countryside. Here people entering spontaneously broke into a song or a dance they forgot their daily miseries and enjoy the camel racing and livestock. They buy sweets and make merry. All this adds to the charm of the place and that too with a religious touch to it.
The buying and selling of livestock by farmers, traders and breeders coincide with the culmination of a religious celebration. Pushkar is one of five places of pilgrimage more conducive mentioned in ancient Hindu scriptures and has one of only two temples dedicated to Lord Brahma. It is believed that on Kartik Purnima, the full moon night of the month of Kartika, all of the 330 million gods and goddesses are present at the Pushkar lake. Currently devotees take a ritual immersion in the holy waters of the lake and offer prayers to Brahma temple.
History
Puskar aa the only temple of Lord Brahma in the country. The myth states that Lord Brahma was on his way to find a suitable place to run a "Yagna '(fire sacrifice) while contemplating, a lotus fell from his hand on land and water surges of this place. One of them was Pushkar where Lord Brahma performed Yagna . The cult of Brahma was considered highly important at the end of the first millennium BC. The holy lake has 52 ghats and pilgrim taking a ritual immersion in the lake is a familiar sight. Although a serene town, Pushkar busy with life during the joyous celebration held on Kartik Purnima. The thousands of devotees every year around the lake meet full moon day of Kartik Purnima in October-November to take an immersion in the holy lake. Cattle enormous and colorful fair Pushkar fair , is also required during this time. The Pushkar Fair is well known for it 'trade camel s and other exciting activities.
Cultural significance
Countless number of traders gather here and the installation and makes shopping. These merchants sell many products such as wool blankets Merta, pearl necklaces of Nagaur, textiles printed in Ajmer and Jodhpur, brassware stool in Jodhpur and Jaipur etc., Ropes, and assorted household items are also sale. Exhibitions and cultural exhibitions are also held in the fair to run the event. Films are shown, competitions are arranged, the bards and poets sing and expose stories of bravery and heroism of days. The animal races and other competitions also add attraction.
Fun and frolics in Pushkar

Rituals and Traditions
These five days are a period of relaxation and merry-making for the villagers, despite being the busiest for them, as is one of the largest cattle fairs in the country. Animals, mainly camels, are made of miles around. Trade is great as several thousand heads of the hands of an exchange of cattle. All camels are cleaned, washed, adorned, some are interesting shorn to form patterns, and special stalls are set up and parure selling the jewelry for the camels. Camels at the fair in Pushkar are decorated with great care. They wear silver jewelry and beads. There are the bells and silver bracelets around their ankles ring that click when they walk. An interesting ritual is a punctured camel 's' noses.
Races and competitions are organized. Sautillent camels across the sands sometimes throwing their riders over the vast sand amidst cheers and taunts of thousands of spectators. An interesting event is the beauty contest camel, they are decorated and parades. Camels smooth before the crowds, enjoying every moment of attention they receive. It is believed that for five days each year, all the gods visit Pushkar and bless the devout. This explains the incredible number of devotees who gather at the lake to wash away their sins.
