Why do you think there are malls? What is there to do there other than buy stuff you may or may not need? Yet all of us go to malls at one point or another. Do you think this makes them valuable to retail businesses? You bet.
Why would a company want to have a booth or store at a mall? With all those stores, what are the chances of some random person walking in and buying something? The chances are great. Maybe not on the person's first visit, but at some point.
So, what does this have to do with selling your home? Yes, you would like to be on a lot that has tons of traffic walking and driving by, but most homes aren't situated as such. A couple weekends a year, however, this may change.
The season is changing. Things are getting warmer. Days are getting longer. We are all starting to head outside to get some fresh air and get in the sun. Well, the same thing goes for the real estate market. Regardless of trends, it always heats up in spring.
Spring is considered a time of renewal. Put in more practical terms, it is finally a time when you can get out of the house and stretch those legs. Entire communities come alive. They often hold weekend events, and this can be your goldmine.
If there is some type of gathering in your community, you have an opportunity to expose your home to lots of potential buyers. People must park and walk to most events. This means there is going to be traffic going past your home.
The walk from the car to the event is when you want to nab them. Make sure you have a for sale sign on your lawn with brochures. Put it next to the sidewalk. Heck, stand their and hand the brochures out. Make sure to hold an open house all day as well.
This may sound embarrassing or dubious, but it works. I guarantee you will get more interest in your home during the one or two day event than from all your other marketing efforts. The more buyers that look at your home, the sooner it will be sold.
