Professional Business Card Design
Colleen Davis
It's no secret that you, like everybody else, make your business cards a part of nearly every type of correspondence you have with your customers. Who doesn't? It's almost a mortal sin to not have one in this period of rough and unforgivable competition. You give it to prospective clients, you leave your card with a client that may be busy, you include it in presentations and you may leave it with potential customers. Some people even bring it with them in bars as a silent way of introduction to their "target demographic". Bottom line is there are so many ways you can utilize your business card for communication. With such a significant role it can play in your dealings with clients and other businesses, it is practically crucial that you design your cards with much thought and have them printed by only your most trusted business card printer.
Below are a few tips to help you in your business card printing design process. Getting your business card right is important, as it may be the only point of contact a customer may have with you.
1. Your information ? be sure to include your name, your title, an email address, phone number, and the fax phone number if you have it. Depending on what type of business you're involved with, consider your street address as well.
2. Your logo ? your company logo is a vital part of your brand. Design theory suggests that people look at pictures before they read the content. That means they are more likely to remember your logo than what they read about you. So don't neglect including your company's logo as this may be the key to helping them recall your information.
3. The design ? whatever designed you finally choose, make sure it fits what your customers expect. If you are in the design industry, for example, a simple black and white card may not be how you want your card to represent your company.
4. Reserve details for the back ? if you do have a lot of information you wish your customer to have available, put the details on the back of the business card. Save the front for basics, such as your contact information and logo.
