Cons: Printed promotional items Food items are perishable, and that limits the amount of time that someone is going to see your advertisement. You also have to worry about allergies that people have and health problems that people might have, like diabetes.
Utility gifts – These are items like pencils, pens, tote bags, calenders, and coffee mugs.
Pros: Because of these printed promotional items having life spans, people are going to see your company message and logo for a long time without thinking that you or your company is pushy. They are items that everyone uses and therefore everyone is going to see the company logo and name.
Cons: There is always the chance that the item is going to be shared with people other than the person who makes the decisions for the company and that the item is going to be used by people who are not a part of your target audience.
Gifts for the office – These are things such as USB drives, adhesive notes, and picture frames.
Pros: Due to the large amount of products that are in the category, a company can always find one that they will be able to afford in their budget. A lot of them cost less than one dollar to buy. They are items that are going to be used in the office and people are going to see it.
Cons: Because a lot of people use these types of promotional gifts, it's hard to make the company stand out using these types of items.
Clothing gifts – This is the largest group of printed promotional items. They are t-shirts, caps, jackets, ties, scarves, and other promotional items. For the most part, printed promotional items that are wearable are used in about 30% of campaigns that use gift products.
Pros: A lot of visibility of a company's message and name, quality of items, a lot of advertising that is free and repetitive, and great gifts to use for incentive for employees.
Cons: It's hard to know what sizes and colours should be used, especially when planning for a trade show. When you make want to make sure that you have ordered enough to satisfy the greatest number of people, you may find that you are spending a lot of money.
These are just a few of the pros and cons when it comes to printed promotional items, but they give you an idea of what companies deal with when choosing corporate promotional items.
