Stress is with us all the time. It comes from mental or emotional activity and physical activity. Stress is an inevitable part of life. However, stress that is held inside and not dealt with in a healthy way can be the root of many dangerous behaviors. Stress is encountered in almost every aspect of our lives. Physical stressors are actions that directly remove or alter habitat. Examples include tilling soil, filling wetlands, or dredging a channel or harbor. Physical stressors are pain and exhaustion. Mental stressors delay and confusion.
Eventually, we will die physically and be resurrected. Similarly, I need to die to the dysfunction that's in me now-the dysfunction of stress. Eventually a point is reached where the decrease in specimen cross-sectional area is greater than the increase in deformation load arising from strain hardening. This condition will be reached first at some point in the specimen that is slightly weaker than the rest.
Stressors cause a release of chemicals in our brain producing a feeling of tension or threat, affecting the way we think and feel both emotionally and physically.
