Using A Car To Tour Spain
Levi Quinn
The advantage of using a car in touring is that it guarantees individual freedom so that the users can drive where and when they feel like. Driving through new places is thrilling as people become part of the scenery than just viewers. To make touring Spain memorable and easy, travelers need to make a list of locations and landmarks they desire to visit, and then map them out. Investing in a GPS system is useful as it makes driving through Spain a fantastic experience. To drive through Spain visitors are allowed to come with their personal cars or rent cars in Spain. To use personal cars requires that the travelers have legal papers for the car and a valid driver's license from their country of origin. Additionally, up-to-date insurance and registration papers must be provided. Passengers in the car need to have proper identification documents.
Some of the most important sites that should not go unvisited in Spain include the Alhambra in Granada, the Cave Home in Guadix, the walled city of Lagguardia, the Roman Ruins in Merida, the place of Lebrija in Seville and the Mezquita in Cordoba. The route to Santiago offers adventurous touring. This is a historical road that has been followed by European pilgrims as a demonstration of their faith. This route crosses through the Iberian Peninsula and terminates at the tomb of Saint James.
Another important route is the Andalusian white village's route. The village's offer a spectacular image of sun-drenched villages perched against steep hillsides that glister under the Andalusian sky. The villages are made up of narrow cobblestone streets that reverberate with the mellow music from Spanish guitars played outdoor, on terraces with tapas, with joyous villagers sipping wine placed on small tables. This is a memorable cultural experience.
Renting a car in Spain that picks up and drops off in Madrid and other major airport cities attracts rates like local VAT, unlimited mileage, unlimited public liability and fire insurance, car delivery at the airports, personal accident insurance and full CDW ( collision damage waiver). When touring Spain by car travelers need to be conversant with Spain's traffic law that demands the car to carry certain items like extra light bulbs, spare tire and light bulb change. Visitors to Spain can only stay for a maximum of six months and staying longer demands one to become a citizen.
The silver route is popular with those touring Spain by car, a route that was followed 300 years ago by the Romans who extracted gold and silver from the northern peninsular. Driving along this route is refreshing as it is full of ruined civilizations and old cultures of the Iberian Peninsula. People touring Spain by car can opt for the Pyrenees to the Atlantic route. The sceneries are marvelous, mountains and valleys covered with forests and canyons flowing with torrential rivers. The route meanders from the cosmopolitan beaches on the Mediterranean Sea to the mysterious cities of Basque country. The northern part of Spain has one of the most awesome landscapes in Europe. The region is full of history, a counterbalance to the beaches, bullfighting and flamenco dances. With the magnificent sights the wonderful city of Spain has to offer, users should get a comfortable and well maintained car to have a tour of a lifetime.
