Because they do not have money to invest in promoting their online business many people choose free advertising. One legitimate question that comes up is can you name one form of free advertising that really works?
I would challenge you that free advertising can work if you give it enough time.
First of all you have put time into marketing your business in various free ways. And secondly you have to give the advertising you are doing a chance to actually work for you.
The flip side to this is paid advertising where you can get almost immediate results. For example many successful Internet marketers have pay per click campaigns running to promote their products online.
Google Adwords is a ppc program that allows you to be on page 1 of the most popular search engine in the world in a matter of minutes after your campaign is set up. There is no form of free advertising that will work this quickly that I am aware of.
I am thinking of a couple of free advertising methods that do pay off if you are willing to work hard and give them time to develop. Article marketing combined with blogging and social networking continues to work when it comes to promoting an Internet business.
Article marketing allows you to get your articles and backlinks to your website in some of the top article directories online. Search engines spider these and pick them up for fresh content. This allows you to develop traffic from the article directory as well as from the search engines too.
When you social bookmark to some of the top online social directories blogging actually works. One way to get traffic from a social directory is to post and submit your blog articles. Plus search engines spider these directories for content for their search engines. This allows you to create valuable backlinks and pick up traffic and repeat visitors to your blog.
People that take traffic exchanges seriously have built up full ime incomes online doing nothing but this. You can drive traffic to landing pages or your website directly by doing nothing but sitting and clicking on ads all day. This isn't the most exciting thing to do, but it is one way that over time can pay off for you in terms of free traffic.
I personally feel that combining free and nearly free advertising with other paid methods is ultimately the best way to go. Whenever possible automate as much of your free advertising to help speed the process up as well.
